The township is developing a park in the area just south of the Kiski Bridge. In 2/2024 they had cleared out trees and installed some picnic tables to develop a township park.
In the spring of 2024 Armstrong Trail completed the section from Rosston to Schenley and the Kiskiminetas Bridge. The trail is blocked at the bridge to prevent an illegal crossing of the on-grade railroad tracks to connect to the Tredway Trail.
In the fall 2025 Armstrong Trail completed the trail from Schenley to Leechburg. The Conemaugh Valley Conservancy is working on the section of trail from Leechburg to Apollo.
In late 2025 Armstrong awarded the design contract for an overhead crossing of the Norfolk Southern tracks by the Kiskiminetas Bridge to replace the illegal on-grade crossing. This would extend a 52 mile trail ride by 5+ miles.
